Singer Simone Battle was found dead in her West Hollywood home on Friday. She was 25.

Battle was a finalist on the 2011 season of Fox's The X Factor, and was a member of girl group, G.R.L. Originally formed as a reboot of the Pussycat Dolls, the group later struck out with its own name in 2013.

Battle's death appears to be due to suicide, according to TMZ. The Los Angeles County Coroner's Office said it will perform an autopsy on Sunday.

Representatives from G.R.L.'s management and record labels released a joint statement saying, "Simone was an exceptional young talent and human being, and we are all devastated to learn of her passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and loved ones at this time," according to New York Daily News.

Battle's childhood friend Derek Butler posted Instagram photos of the singer in her memory:

Battle was a finalist on The X Factor in its debut season, making it to the top 17. After being eliminated from the competition, she released a single called "He Likes Boys" and an accompanying music video.

She also released songs on her own YouTube channel, including covers of Nicki Minaj's "Starships" and Drake's "Take Care."
