Singaporean netizens are having a field day with Satan jokes and puns after the Land Transport Authority (LTA) announced on its Facebook page the launch of five new bus services on Monday. The "offending" bus service is numbered "666."
In popular culture, the number "666" is known as the "number of the beast" and is believed to be the number used to invoke Satan.
According to the LTA, the "666" bus will service a route between Singapore's central business district area and Punggol, which is in the northeast of the island.
Following the announcement, netizens have been quick to crack jokes on Facebook and Twitter.
One Facebook commenter wrote: "Always suspected Satan was living in Punggol."

While there's no word on whether LTA would revise the bus service number to appease superstitious folks, we aren't averse to this kind of hell breaking loose online.
