Six Groups, a German web 2.0 site that has been offering community services since October 2007, has launched a new application for websites called Livecommunity. It is a widget of sorts that can be embedded onto your website and allows the users/readers create a community by chatting.
We know that every website, whether it be about shopping, music, or hobbies, has a community. But how do you know when these fans and loyal readers are online? How do you interact with these customers who may have questions, problems, or useful feedback?
With Livecommunity, Six Groups has solved the problem of producer-consumer interaction. Community groups, like those from a similar German site, Groops, are created by a website's owner and anyone can jump in and begin talking.
Plus, Livecommunity offers an innovative communication tool called Livestream that, like FriendFeed, combines all activities in real time. It shows conversations as they happen as well as topic-relevant information that is pulled from other web 2.0 services like Twitter, YouTube or Flickr.
