A group of skaters attempting to enjoy the fresh ice turned their outing into an animal rescue.

While out on an ice skating tour of Båven in Sweden, a group spotted four wild boars on the frozen water, unable to navigate the slippery ice.

According to the Swedish nature website Natursidan, the group believes that the boars were trapped on a small island, and when they ran out of food, they attempted an escape to the mainland but were unsuccessful.

Fortunately, the group of skaters flexed their curling skills, and were able to gently push all four of the boars to the lake's shore.

Although this may look like a bit of harsh way to rescue these animals, the group noted that some of the boars were a bit aggressive when approached. So, their sticks allowed them to push the boars at a safe distance.
