Over the past few years, Brian Kuss and his son Tyler have developed a system for building Halloween costumes: Tyler brainstorms the idea, and his father figures out how to make it a reality.

In past years, Brian has brought his 12-year-old son's unusual requests to life, from a vending machine packed with snacks to a bright blue mailbox. This year's costume, a skee ball game, might be their best yet.

"It only weighs 7 pounds (not including candy)," Brian told Mashable.

"He always wants to be something that is unique," he said. "I think that [is] the big drive behind his ideas. He just wants to be something that no one has seen before and then he wants me to make it look as real as possible."

Brian built the skee ball costume from foam, cardboard, mailing tube and tons of heavy duty glue. The whole project took a few weekends to put together and is surprisingly light.
