Skydeck launched a while back as a really cool tool (one that I still use every single day), as well as an interesting way to change your perspective about the definition of a social network. In connecting the dots between you and the people you talk to on your cell phone, Skydeck is making a regular activity directly applicable to social networking (see here for initial coverage).

Now, Skydeck will better convert your mobile call data into the online social networking realm, by connecting these networks together. You'll be able to see a list of your friends, as well as other Skydeck members that they're friends with as well. This is achieved by mutual consent of all parties involved, so the new feature heavily relies on users' trust of the Skydeck platform, as well as the ability to recognize the potential of such connection capabilities.

Do You Want to See Who's Calling Me?

It's a move that will likely make a lot of newcomers uncomfortable at the very thought of it, but as an existing Skydeck member and an interested bystander of the porting of user data across networks and devices, I've always been quite enthralled by the ongoing potential of Skydeck and other players in these more involved and truly reflective ways in which to view and utilize your own social network. Aside from the mere capability of seeing your connected social networks in this manner, Skydeck has layered in some automated features as well.

Your network is displayed in a filtered manner, so those that you speak with the most often will display at the top. All relationships amongst your connected network will now display in a similar manner, with the strength of the relationships being indicated by none other than mobile "signal" bars.
