Skype and Salesforce announce today their new version of Skype made for Salesforce using their AppExchange program.

Skype for Salesforce provides Skype integration into the Salesforce on-demand Customer Relationship Management applications, looking to improve productivity, streamline communication and strengthen relationships with clients and colleagues. As Skype becomes more widely used for both personal and business purposes, integrating Skype further into Salesforce's services is beneficial for its users. The actual Skype service offerings are similar to what you get as a regular Skype user, with free calls to other Skype users and the option to add unlimited SkypeOut calling.

Skype for Salesforce also integrates with Salesforce's computer telephony adapter to enable click-to-call for phone number of those listed within Salesforce SFA applications. Most useful may be the feature enabling inbound Skype calls from parties listed within Salesforce to automatically display the user's record, allowing the Salesforce user to add notes and better track their activities, which can also be used for future reference.
