Look north of the horizon line to add a special element to your photos for this week's Mashable Photo Challenge.

Find a time and place that will make the sky really pop -- you might capture the shimmering stars, set up silhouettes against the sunset or catch #cloudporn at its finest.

Our guest host is Brighton Galvan, a creative director and photographer from California. His feed is a magical abyss of dream-like skyscape shots -- many of them captured right at dusk and with long exposure settings.

Tips from Galvan

Always have your camera on you. You never know when you'll need it.

Shoot every day. Practice makes perfect.

Look for the photo that no one else is shooting. Think outside the box.

Be yourself. This is your opportunity to be as creative as possible, and the sky's the limit.

To enter the challenge, share your photos by Sunday, Nov. 29 at 8 p.m. ET using the hashtag #MashPics_Skyscape. Galvan's favorite submissions will be featured next week.
