Slacker, the online music-sharing community, will soon announce its new Slacker Station Creator tool, giving users more control over their Internet radio.
With the Slacker Station Creator, adding fifteen or more artists to your station will allow you to listen to tracks by only the artists you've chosen. You can also filter your search results according to the popularity of tracks played (fringe, familiar or unfamiliar, for example). Determine the level of control for music discovery, or select the rotation frequency of favorite tracks, to be played based on things like release date. With these features, users gain far more control over their web-based radio stations, more so than with Pandora or Last.fm. What's more, is that these control features extend beyond the rearranging of a user's playlist, to even include the manner in which they search and discover new music.
