Slideroll is pretty cool. It lets you create slideshows from your photos (yes, importing from Flickr is supported!), add transitions and music and publish your slideshow on your website, blog or MySpace page.

Slideroll makes its money on Pro accounts, which makes a lot of sense - it also seems to be gaining some traction with the MySpacers. But the thing that really grabs you is the ease of use: at the heart of Slideroll is a little Flash application that lets you effortlessly import photos, rearrange them, create smooth transitions and add music. It reminds me of the game-changing video remix tools over on Eyespot. Very impressive.

Nonetheless, I can't help feeling that these tools could absolutely blow apart the advertising industry. What would happen if creating your own custom TV ad on SpotRunner was as easy as assembling a slideshow on Slideroll? As I said back then: why the heck did SpotRunner bother creating generic ads when they could have let you create your own? Better still, create a marketplace (ala innerTee) where I can buy user-generated photos, video clips and audio to include in my ad. Next? Build an Adsense-for-video and offer automated ad insertion to YouTube, Revver, vSocial and the rest. I'm sure with the right team I could build this, but for now I'll add it to my ever-expanding to-do list and see if it still sounds like a good idea in the morning.
