Presentation-sharing community SlideShare has raised $3 million in Series A funding, led by Venrock. David Siminoff, a partner at Venrock, has also joined SlideShare's board of directors. Siminoff has joined the ranks of some of the other industry vets that make up SlideShare's investors and advisory board, which currently includes Guy Kawasaki (founder of Truemors and Alltop), Dave McClure (angel investor), Mark Cuban, and Saul Klein (founding partner of The Accelerator Group) to name a few.

But back to the funding. SlideShare plans on using the $3 million infusion for product development, and "accelerating customer adoption," which likely means that the company will be pouring some resources into growing its team and marketing its product.
