It's tough to be a the lead singer of a one-hit-wonder band.

As they say, the years start coming and they don't stop coming -- somehow it's 2015 and Smash Mouth lead singer Steve Harwell is getting pelted with bread on stage at a Colorado food festival. Understandably, Harwell was not pleased.

Just before Smash Mouth was set to begin its encore at the Taste of Fort Collins festival on Sunday, Harwell launched into a swear-laden rant directed at audience members throwing loaves on bread on stage, The Coloradoan reports. Members of the crowd were reportedly tossing pieces of bread in the air when a few landed on the stage, prompting Harwell to lose his patience.

"I'm gonna walk off stage and guess what?," he said. "You're paying for it, motherfucker."

Before things got uglier, a security guard subdued Harwell and the singer finally left the stage.

His bandmates did their best to keep things light, playing the backing track to "All-Star" before launching into it without Harwell. Because when your audience shows up to hear a single song, you'd better deliver.
