Critics call David Bowie things like "a genius," a "brilliant artist," and "one of the great figures of modern music."

So, who better to pay tribute to the recently deceased iconic rockstar than the writers of such classic lyrics like, "get your game on, hey" and "put away the crack before the crack puts you away." Smash Mouth: true lyrical literati.

The group recently decided to cover "Under Pressure," with the hashtag #ripBowie. A nice gesture, perhaps, but Twitter isn't that impressed:

I just listened to Smash Mouth's cover of Under Pressure and now I'm sad....because it exists.— Karisa Maxwell (@KarisaMaxwell) January 12, 2016

you should be arrested @smashmouth— drew olanoff (@drew) January 12, 2016

Listen, and make passive-aggressive judgements, for yourself.
