Update: A Google Cloud outage is what's causing the problems with Snapchat.
Snapchat is down for many users on Tuesday morning, and addicts fans are taking it hard.
The messaging app appears to be having problems loading content -- we've checked it, and none of us at Mashable can load anything, including on Discover.
Snapchat's support channel on Twitter confirmed this early Tuesday, adding that it's working on a fix. At the time of this writing, the problems still persist.
"We are experiencing an issue that is preventing some Snapchatters from posting and viewing Snaps and Stories," a Snapchat spokesperson told Mashable. "We are working hard to solve this issue as quickly as possible and are very sorry for the inconvenience this is causing our community and partners."
The back end of Snapchat is supported by Google Cloud Platform, it's been previously reported. Google Cloud's dashboard lists a service outage for Google App Engine -- the likely cause of Snapchat's troubles.
Some Snapchat services are working, including the ability to send still photos as snaps. However, most if not all video-based services, including stories and Discover, are down; most likely the video side is dependent on Google Cloud services.
