Snapchat is in the headlines again as Chinese ecommerce giant Alibaba invests $200 million into the messaging service, valuing it at an astonishing $15 billion.

But its young users couldn't give a disappearing text about the business side of things. They're much more concerned about what happens within their own accounts -- how soon bae replies to their last Snapchat and watching stories created by their latest crush.

We looked to Twitter for insight into Snapchat, as typed by its most populous users -- today's youth. Take a look through our selection of advice, tips, observations and oddly insightful commentary.

#Selfie

There are a lot of selfies. There's a difference between selfies you send to friends and selfies you sent to love interests.

If you can't handle my ugliest snap chat face, you don't deserve my best selfie #wordsofwisdom— ✝ally stan✝ ||2 DAYS (@cabellocares) March 12, 2015

the uglier the snapchat, the closer the friendship— iAm¥ungSid (@YungSidOfficial) March 12, 2015

Snapchat conversations are hard because eventually you just run out of selfie poses so you end up taking pictures of the couch or something— Sad But True (@ButTrueStory) March 12, 2015

Whatever

Snapchat users are harsh critics about what holds their interest.

PSA: couples needa stop putting their issues on snapchat... NOBODY CARES— Daisy Lopez (@deeskeeeezy) March 12, 2015

Can we just confirm that I watched your snapchat story to get rid of the little notification, not because I'm interested in your life.— whatever (@girlideas) March 12, 2015

Why do all the snapchat stories that I don't care about watching load first lol— Jordyn Vaughn (@jordynevaughn) March 12, 2015

Answer, dammit

How long you take to reply to a Snapchat message is a message in itself.

People that open your snapchat and don't reply are the worst.— Java chiller (@Lovethisthug) March 12, 2015

Keep it snappy

Don't make the mistake of thinking you're worth more than about 100 seconds of anyone's time.

When peoples snapchat stories are like over 100 seconds long, I usually just tap through it all— Julianne (@juliannemariewh) March 12, 2015

If u go to a concert PLS don't snapchat the whole thing— kindall (@kindallxo) March 12, 2015

Girl if your snapchat story is 200+ seconds u better be skydiving & doing back flips w/ Jesus bc trust me your life is not that interesting— Tyler Kitchen (@itylerkitchen) March 12, 2015

little advice if your snapchat story is 300 seconds long: stop— sahhh♡ (@SARAHpatchkidzz) March 10, 2015

Girls versus boys

Female users of the platform have some choice comments for male users.

If your not sure which boys have cars just add them on snap chat and they'll remind you every hour.— Zoe Bossy- Wolfe (@zoewolfe11) March 2, 2015

I have cute boys on my snapchat yet I still tend to post hideous stories. Do I care? No — Jo (@jokane08) March 3, 2015

I'm not a big fan of boys who snapchat me when they have girlfriends....... Like knock it off you are rude— Kylieeeeeee (@ky_stendardo) March 3, 2015

Snapchatting cute boys is overrated, I wish there was a way you could snapchat cute dogs— Marina (@marina_vu72) March 2, 2015

Why do guys feel the need to snapchat u just to let u know they're with another girl DOES IT LOOK LIKE I CARE— twiggy (@thadssz) March 12, 2015

Boys versus girls

And likewise.

Annoying drunk girls on snapchat should be illegal— Eddie A (@EddieAvalos_) March 12, 2015

Girls absolutely, 100%, without a doubt, no questions asked HAVE to make it known that they're drinking in their snapchat story.— Mike (@Hiiimmike) March 12, 2015

I just laugh when I see girls miming to songs on snapchat. Some of you put bare effort in. Can you relax its snapchat, not a concert b— Nath (@nathyyyyysmith) March 11, 2015

Girls versus girls

Same.

don't snapchat guys with girlfriends — Dezi (@dezigarzaa) March 12, 2015

ALRIGHT IF YOURE GONNA SNOG YOUR BOYFRIEND YOU DONT NEED TO MAKE A SNAPCHAT VIDEO OF IT KMT— Farah (@farah___z) March 9, 2015

I DONT GET HOW GIRLS DONT UNDERSTAND NOT TO SNAPCHAT MY BOYFRIEND IDGI LIKE BYE NOT TODAY NOT EVER— tay (@taygenoh) January 31, 2015

Boo hoo

No one, it seems, is a big fan of weepy Snapchat content.

why do girls post pictures of them crying to their snapchat story? could you be ANY more thirsty????— taylor (@taylormichele__) March 12, 2015

DO NOT POST PICTURES OF YOU CRYING ON YOUR SNAPCHAT STORY— liz▵beth (@Lahizzz) March 12, 2015

Hate when people post pics of them crying. Like its okay to be sad that's normal but you're crying while taking pics on snapchat for what?— BREE (@Ms_RoxieHart) March 8, 2015

Stalking

Stalkers gonna stalk.

so glad snapchat doesn't tell people how many times you've watch their stories— may (@mayleencorral) March 11, 2015

It would be so embarrassing if snapchat showed how many times someone watched a story — ramsay harris (@ramsayharris) March 10, 2015

Good thing snapchat doesn't tell someone how many times you've viewed their story— raley storm (@raleyjohnson) March 12, 2015

It can get a bit repetitive

Sometimes everyone's, like, saying the same thing.

I don't know why there's a weather app on your phone when everyone on snapchat is a meteorologist— Maddie Jewell (@madjewell43) March 12, 2015

If you missed the sunset or the rainbow, don't worry!! You can find them on everyone's snapchat stories— Rachael Dela Cruz (@rdelaacruzz) March 12, 2015

Didn't even have to go outside for the sunset, thank you snapchat.— weavekilla (@mayajrueda) March 12, 2015

Dicks

There are dicks -- two different kinds.

I wish people cared about being smart than who they're going to nude on Snapchat next— Tom - Be Happy! (@tomlaywood) March 12, 2015

Why are guys so dirty on snapchat? Like I really don't wanna see your little dicks— Tatiyana (@ohhtati_) February 19, 2015

dont be that guy that draws dicks on every snapchat— Butter Knife (@notkekoa) February 12, 2015

Screengrabbing

It's kind of a no-no, but at the same time, it's kind of a compliment.

I can immediately tell if a snapchat is gonna be screen shotted for black mail— Guillermo De Leon (@g_deleon9) March 12, 2015

Screenshot me on snapchat one time and see if I ever talk or trust you ever again. — Zachary Morgan I (@MachZorgan) March 12, 2015

Y'all know when you take a screengrab we can see that, right? #snapchat *giggle*— Tesla (@TeslaWorld) January 13, 2014

Wanna hurt someone's feelings? Screenshot their snapchat and then don't reply.— Uncle Eddie (@brendankessler) June 27, 2014

The olds

Any parental figures on Snapchat are easy targets for ridicule.

Besties

Finally, Snapchatters really, really miss the old "Best Friends" functionality that let you see the three people to whom a user sent the most Snapchats.

Not gonna lie I miss stalking people's best friends on snapchat when I'm bored..— Hayden Harris (@HaydenTHarris14) March 12, 2015

Can snapchat bring best friends back I liked stalking people— Evy (@sincereariana) March 11, 2015

I do missing stalking snapchat best friends.— Jack Clemons (@Jack_Clemons) March 9, 2015

Dear Snapchat, Please bring back the ability to see people's best friends, so I can go back to stalking/judging people. Thank you, Anna— Anna Kozal (@Anna5446) March 1, 2015

I really miss stalking peoples snapchat best friends— marissa (@marissafarnkop1) March 3, 2015
