'Saturday Night Live' adds new cast member: Jon Rudnitsky

There'll be at least one new face in Studio 8H this fall: comedian Jon Rudnitsky, who's joining the cast of Saturday Night Live.

NBC revealed Monday that the New Jersey-born standup will be the sketch show's newest featured player. The 25-year-old USC grad notes on his website that he "spent most of his childhood/teenage years performing in musicals (not getting laid) and doing open mics at The Comic Strip in NYC."

Rudnitsky's site also mentions that he has performed at Montreal's Just for Laughs Comedy Festival and appeared in a 2012 episode of Criminal Minds, "where he had two lines and then was pistol whipped in the face -- solidifying his classical theatre training and his family's doubts about pursuing a career in entertainment in one fell swoop." In addition, he's written and starred in several viral YouTube videos, including this 2014 short about Matthew McConaughey's Oscar campaign:
