Snocap and CD Baby have announced the ending of their partnership, which allowed CD Baby users to distribute content through Snocap widgets on their MySpace profiles. The reason for termination has been stated by Snocap as the CD Baby middleman approach having been unnecessary for end users, insisting that artists can better manage their accounts through direct access to Snocap.

Any CD Baby users that had created a Snocap widget for their MySpace page will need to create an account directly on Snocap, but the $30 fee for the first year will be waived if you sign up before October 11. No word on whether this termination was initiated by Snocap, so we'll see if this will have an affect on others that have partnered with Snocap, which include Imeem and Slide.
