Snowden's Email Provider Shuts Down and Other News You Need to Know

Welcome to this morning's edition of "First To Know," a series in which we keep you in the know on what's happening in the digital world.

Today, we're looking at three stories from the tech world you may have missed. Representatives from several tech companies visited the White House yesterday for a closed meeting with President Barack Obama, likely about NSA surveillance programs and online privacy concerns.

And it looks like the Yahoo swooped in at just the right time for Tumblr -- otherwise, the blogging platform probably would have had to start fundraising again to make up for slacking ad revenues.
