8-Year-Old YouTube Sensation Performs at Social Good Summit

Toward the end of programming at the Social Good Summit on Saturday, attendees enjoyed a wonderful performance by YouTube sensation J.D. Malkin, known as jdviolinboy on the video sharing platform. In addition to being gifted musically, Malkin is also the newest youth ambassador of Save the Children, the leading independent organization for children in need.

Susan Ridge, vice president of marketing and communications at Save the Children, spoke with Malkin before he performed, and they discussed a new campaign with the Ad Council called "Every Beat Matters."

"It uses children's heartbeats in a really amazing way, and it's goal is to keep all children healthy," Malkin said.

Malkin covered the One Republic song "Feel Again," which uses children's heartbeats in the music.
