Teams representing celebrities including Alec Baldwin, Hayden Panettiere, Brea Grant, Corbin Bleu, Ernie Johnson, Kyle Petty, Elevenmoms and Linkin Park used Twitter, Facebook, MySpace and StumbleUpon in their attempts to raise the most money for their chosen causes.
Congratulations to the Teams!
With a staggering $8,985 raised by the deadline, Team Corbin's efforts for Stand Up To Cancer won the contest. Second place went to Team Alec, with $7,915 raised for The Actors Fund (including a donation from Alec Baldwin himself!). Our own Team Mashable came in a respectable third place with $4,225 raised for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (including a generous donation from the 12seconds community).
Additionally, PayPal will donate a further $5,000 to Stand Up To Cancer to celebrate Team Corbin's win.
Congratulations to all the teams, and well done to everyone who donated - it's another sign that social media tools can help us achieve audacious goals!
