Can We Really Trust Those Amazon Drones?

Amazon unveiled a new delivery service on 60 Minutes this weekend: product delivery by flying robot drones. It's slated for a 2015 rollout at the earliest, which is when the FAA can update its regulations on commercial drone use.

So why did Amazon announce its drones plan so far in advance?

Its air time on 60 Minutes seemed a lot like free advertising for Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, made even more valuable by its timing: the night before a record-breaking Cyber Monday.
