It's a story you've heard before, but one you'll never tire of.

Lt. Col. Cotina Jenkins-Sellers returned home to San Antonio, Texas on Jan. 16 after an eight month deployment in Kuwait. But instead of telling her 13-year-old son Derrick ahead of time, she and her husband chose to surprise him at his middle school basketball game.

San Antonio's local ABC affiliate KSAT was on the scene to capture the tear-inducing footage.

The uplifting clip shows Jenkins-Sellers sneaking into the school during Derrick's game and nervously preparing to see her son. The team's coaches were in on the surprise, and arranged for Derrick to shoot a free-throw, unaware that his mother was sneaking up on him from behind.

The moment Jenkins-Sellers finally reveals herself, Derrick falls to the floor in surprise before the two share a tearful embrace.

Don't feel the need to hold back tears -- we certainly didn't.
