Now instead of just getting notifications of upcoming concerts and tours, Songkick users can use the site to create their own "gigographies," which serve as online records of events where users can document their concert history with photos, videos, and set lists. All of this user activity is collectively harnessed to power the social concert database.

The social concert database features immediate access to one million concerts — dating as far back as 1960 — that users can save to their gigographies. Users simply do a quickly search for past, present, or future gigs and festivals and select "I'm going," or "I was there" to have the concert added to their profile. Attendees can then view other concert goers, add links, photos, videos, add set lists, or review and rate the event.

Once more users start to build out their gigographies, Songkick's social concert database will become more than just a listing of past and present concerts, but a rich source of information and personal experience centered around artists, venues, festivals, and concerts.

Though there's plenty of healthy competition in the online music space, we can't think of another site with the same repertoire of concerts that provides a social experience quite like Songkick. Ready to build up your gigography? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
