Sonific to Launch MusicAPI

Sonific, the creator of music apps and widgets, has announced the upcoming release of its first API. The API is scheduled to launch later on this year.

This music API will be geared towards record labels, social media companies and music companies, letting sites incorporate sonific's musi library, and include their own music catalogs to be streamed through sonific, and made available to the other participating networks. Users will be able to purchase songs through Sonific via iTunes, eMusic, Amazon, and Wippit, to name a few. In all, this is a more direct way for social networks and record labels to interact, as a way to promote artists through online communities, relying a little bit less on the end users for bringing music to the site, but making it available directly.
