After a bumpy release in Japan last month, the company may try to redeem the product before it comes to North America, Europe and Australia on Feb. 22. Gamers are hoping for software updates and new features that can set the device apart from competitors such as the Nintendo 3DS and increasingly impressive smartphones.
Sony is also expected to showcase Smart TVs and content partnerships to go along with them, much like LG did earlier today. We’ll tell you all about Sony's latest releases in the live blog below. Join us at 8 p.m. EST/5 p.m. PST for updates, photos and commentary from Mashable editors.
Update: Now that the press conference is over, view our gallery of photos, including celebrity appearances by Will Smith and Kelly Clarkson.
