Rumor: Sony Xperia i1 'Honami' Boasts 20-Megapixel Camera

Rumors are swirling around the successor to Sony's Xperia Z smartphone, after specifications of the alleged Xperia i1 Honami phone leaked online.

Taiwanese site ePrice claims the new Honami model will have a 5-inch 1080p HD display, a 20.7-megapixel rear camera, a 2-megapixel front camera, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800-series processor (which may run at 2.2 GHz) and NFC technology. The LTE phone is also rumored to feature a 3000mAh battery, with Sony's Stamina Mode -- a feature that can automatically save battery by shutting down apps when the screen is off.

By contrast, the current Xperia Z model (pictured above) only has a 13-megapixel camera and the phone's Qualcomm chip clocks at 1.5 GHz.

The Honami specs are unconfirmed rumors for now. But Sony may officially unveil details at a press conference in Berlin, Germany, on Sept. 4.
