Sony Xperia phones released in 2012 will get an update to Android 4.1 or Jelly Bean in 2013, Sony Mobile has announced.
The latest models, Xperia T, Xperia TX and the yet to be released Xperia V will be the first to get the Jelly Bean treatment, starting mid-Q1 2013. Yes, even James Bond will enjoy the benefits of the latest version of Android.
The rest of the company's 2012 lineup -- Xperia S, Xperia acro S, Xperia ion, Xperia P, Xperia go and Xperia J -- will also be updated to Android 4.1, but Sony did not give the exact timing for those, promising to give more details "in due course."
Unfortunately, for the company's older Xperia models, dating from 2011 and earlier, Android 4.0.4 will be the end of the line.
