SoundCloud Transforms Instagram Photos Into Album Art

Some album covers are as iconic as the songs they hold. Now, SoundCloud is re-imagining them for the digital age.

The online audio platform now allows its users to connect their Instagram accounts to their profiles and use their filtered photos as a new kind of album artwork.

The integration means that users will be able to add photos to both new and existing sounds and playlists. SoundCloud, which reaches more than 250 million people every month, announced the partnership Tuesday.

Artists Kaskade and Krewella have already used the new feature:

On its website, SoundCloud explains that on a post or edit page of a sound of set, you will see a button that says "upload image" and "Instagram." Upon clicking "Instagram," a pop-up box will appear, asking you to connect your Instagram account. Once you do so, your details will be saved.
