Space shuttle Endeavour's journey to retirement comes to an end Saturday -- but not before it traverses through the streets of Los Angeles toward its new home: California Science Center.
People are watching the shuttle trek from Los Angeles International Airport to the museum and posting eye-catching photos of it on Twitter and Instagram using hashtag #SpotTheShuttle.
Even NBA star Paul Pierce tweeted a picture of the shuttle:

Since Friday, a Toyota Tundra has been pulling the 155,000-pound Endeavour on a 12-mile route to the museum, where the shuttle is slated to reach at 8:30 p.m. PT.
NASA retired Endeavour after it made its final landing in June 2011 (see photos below). The shuttle's cross-country journey to L.A. began at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida on Sept. 19. It flew on top of NASA's 747 Shuttle Carrier aircraft to California, making pit stops along the way.
Meanwhile, the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County launched a Facebook contest to celebrate the occasion, asking people to write a caption for a photo featuring an astronaut and a fossil: "What did the dinosaur say to the space shuttle?"
