SpaceX Dragon Capsule Successfully Sent Toward the ISS [VIDEO]

SpaceX has successfully launched a Dragon capsule toward the International Space Station Sunday night.

The Dragon is carrying half a ton of equipment and supplies, and if all goes well, it should arrive at the ISS Wednesday, Oct. 10.

After testing the Dragon capsule and the Falcon 9 launch vehicle in May, SpaceX has been approved by NASA to deliver a series of cargo shipments to the ISS, bringing a total of 20 metric tons of supplies into space.

SpaceX is scheduled to carry out 12 resupply fights for NASA in a $1.6 billion deal.
