SplashCast has raised $4 million in Series A funding, led by Mark Bayliss, an advertising veteran based in Australia. Formerly the CFO of Fairfax Holdings, Bayliss will be joining the board of SplashCast, and putting his knowledge of marketing to good use. Bayliss will be active in both sales and strategic partnership roles on behalf of SplashCast Media.

Sounds like SplashCast will be making an even bigger push towards presenting itself as a marketing tool for brands to take advantage of. Throughout SplashCast's history, we've seen the media tool develop from an individual widget that plays multimedia effects, to a white label solution that can be integrated as an application on a larger social network's platform, or merely utilized as a cross-network widget.
