Splashtop Funded and Launched: Surf the Web Before Booting Up Your PC

Splashtop is a new tool that lets you access the Internet and web applications without fully starting your computer, and its parent company, DeviceDM, has received $10 million to further develop its product. With Splashtop technology installed, you can hit your computer's power button, and you'll immediately see the Splashtop dashboard, giving you a few options. You can go directly to the web, load your Skype, or load your traditional operating system.

Splashtop is currently available on Asus P5E3 Deluxe/WiFi AP motherboards, and is working with electronics companies to integrate Splashtop into desktops and notebook PCs. This way of bypassing your normal boot-up is also being promoted as an eco-friendly alternative for keeping your computer on unnecessarily. Splashtop's video is below.
