Sportingo, a sports fan portal community, has raised just under $6 million $3.2 million in funding from London-based Ingenious Media.
Launched early this year in Israel, Sportingo is a site where users can write their own match reviews and commentary, and discuss others' content. With the type of content that's created on Sportingo, this is very much a blogging community for users to contribute to the larger discussion around various sports. A wide rang of sports is covered on Sportingo, from cycling to swimming, cricket and rugby. Sportingo has already acquired a UK soccer blog, CaughtOffside, in June. The site has since opened an office in London.
