Sports Illustrated to Return to TV With NBC Sports

Sports Illustrated parent company Time Inc. and NBC Sports Group announced Monday that they will partner to launch Sports Illustrated, a monthly, hour-long program sponsored by Lexus. The show promises to deliver "the magazine’s DNA of award-winning storytelling through feature segments, original reporting and commentary from SI’s trusted journalists," according to an emailed release.

The show's content will appear, in part, on SI.com and NBCSports.com. At least one of the topics covered on each show will be spun into a feature in the magazine that same week, a SI spokesperson tells me.

The show will premiere Tues., July 24 at 9 p.m. on the NBC Sports Network, just three days before the Opening Ceremony for the 2012 Olympics Games in London kicks off.
