Top 10 Sports Stars With the Most Social Juice [CHART]

By the time you read this, soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo likely will have passed 50 million Likes on Facebook. That's five percent of Facebook's total population. Impressive, right?

Ronaldo leads the top ten list of the most beloved social media superstars in sports, compiled in the chart below by social popularity tracking site Starcount.com. Ronaldo's Facebook page adds about 40,000 new fans every day, and he has just under 13.8 million Twitter followers to boot. He's so popular, in fact, that he's the only sports figure who can remain in tweeting distance of pop superstars when it comes to social supremacy. Ronaldo is the first non-music figure to reach 50 million Likes and is Facebook's sixth most popular person overall.

Soccer stars dominate StarCount's top 10 list, taking the top four spots. Ronaldo's Real Madrid teammate Ricardo Kaka, who in April became the world's first athlete to reach 10 million Twitter followers, comes in fourth and is followed by American basketball great LeBron James.

StarCount's rankings take into account popularity on a range of social networks. Interestingly, Michael Jordan comes in sixth on the list, thanks solely to a Facebook page of dubious authenticity -- a powerful testament to the strength of his personal brand, even nine years after retiring for the third time.
