Will the Next Big Social Network Be All About Video?

Jesse Draper is creator and host of The Valley Girl Show, through which she's become a spokesperson for startups and helped pioneer the way of new media content distribution. Formerly a Nickelodeon star, Draper is now CEO of Valley Girl‚ where she oversees the show and runs technology blog Lalawag.com.

Spreecast is kind of like a public Skype video chat combined with interactive social media elements. It’s a flexible platform that can be used in a variety of ways, but it’s great for publishers, TV shows and celebrities who want to interact with fans.

On this episode of The Valley Girl Show, we sit down with Spreecast founder and CEO Jeff Fluhr, who believes social video is the next logical evolution from text- and photo-based social networks like Facebook and Twitter.

Fluhr has a knack for staying ahead of trends, so he just might know what he’s talking about. His first startup, StubHub was acquired by eBay in 2007 for $310 million. The company is currently is working with entertainment TV show Extra to connect fans of shows like The X Factor and The Walking Dead with contestants, judges and actors.
