Victor Garber is sort of everywhere these days -- he recurs on Lisa Kudrow's Web Therapy, he's the ominous narrator on NBC's The Slap, and even popped up on Louie last year.

But when Greg Berlanti, the executive producer of CW's The Flash and his former boss on Eli Stone, called him up with a chance to be on his latest show, playing one half of the iconic Firestorm character, Garber, who is admittedly "not a comic book guy," found himself excited about the possibility nonetheless.

"I love Greg and I trust him, so I said 'Sure, sounds like fun,'" says the Alias alum. "It was a happy accident, really."

At the end of last week's episode of the superhero series, the gang at STAR Labs successfully completed a missions to undo the work of the particle accelerator blast and separate Ronnie Raymond (Robbie Amell) from Dr. Martin Stein (Garber), who together make up Firestorm.

In Tuesday's episode, both parties will find it's hard to be apart from someone you've been with for a year.

Garber has filmed two episodes of the show, tonight's included, and he plans to return for the season 1 finale.

And at the moment, despite rumors to the contrary, that's all that's on the books.

Yes, it didn't take long after news of Garber's casting for blogs to begin speculating that the show was aiming for a possible chance to spin-off the Firestorm character. Garber says nothing of the sort was part of the early on or currently. "There's been a lot of rumors flying about, and I'm so used to those in my life," he says with a laugh.

"I certainly would be intrigued if something like that were to happen" Garber added, "... but I think it would be great. It would be fun."

The Flash airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
