Day drinking on St. Patrick's Day in the U.S. is no elegant affair.
Fact: The chances of being barfed on increases by about 10,000 percent on March 17. Do yourself (and your laundry machine) a huge favor, and stay away from the local bar at whatever cost.
Instead, stay home and make Irish whiskey cocktails that actually taste good. No green beer allowed.
