Clueless star Stacey Dash chimed into the #OscarsSoWhite controversy by making some comments that came across a little, well ... you know.

The actress, who has enjoyed a resurgence in fame as a conservative commentator for Fox News, was invited on Fox and Friends Wednesday to offer her opinion on the Oscar boycott some African-American artists are planning.

After calling the boycott "ludicrous," Dash suggested that Black History Month and BET should be eliminated altogether, insinuating that the month of observance and the television channel constitute segregation.

"We have to make up our minds. Either we want to have segregation or integration. If we don't want segregation, then we need to get rid of channels like BET and the BET Awards and the Image Awards, where you're only awarded if you're black," the star opined. "If it were the other way around, we would be up in arms. It's a double standard.”

Dash, who turns 49 Wednesday, then went on to say that Black History Month should be abolished, because there is no White History Month, which is a common argument among conservatives, but ignores the marginalization and subjugation of African-Americans throughout the nation's history.

(This is the same Stacey Dash who was suspended from Fox for saying that Obama "doesn't give a shit" about terrorism and who doubted the existence of the gender pay gap.)

The Twittersphere was on fire shortly after her statements. In no time, "Stacey Dash" became a widely-derided trending topic, though there were also a small number of Tweets that expressed support for the actress.

Never one to let public reaction ruffle her feathers, Dash responded to the criticism by doubling down on her statement about Black History Month through her conservative blog, hosted on a faith-based website, by referencing comments Morgan Freeman made in 2009 in which he asked Mike Wallace to stop calling him a "black man."
