Our latest look at Star Wars: Battlefront pays a visit to the desert planet Jakku, 29 years before the Millennium Falcon races through the wreckage of a crashed Star Destroyer in The Force Awakens.

It's a brief glimpse that provides an on-the-ground perspective of the raging battle that led to the Star Destroyer's landfall. Battlefront's "Battle of Jakku" is set 29 years before the events of the coming Star Wars movie, just after the destruction of the second Death Star in Return of the Jedi.

Jakku joins Battlefront's list of planetary fighting arenas as a free download on Dec. 8, or on Dec. 1 for those that pre-order the game. Trailers so far suggest it plays a key role in the events of The Force Awakens, out Dec. 18, so expect the game to provide fans with some helpful context just a couple weeks before the long-awaited movie finally opens.
