The absolute glut of coverage right now might have you thinking that Star Wars characters have already taken over the world, with the latest film The Force Awakens soon releasing gradually across the globe.

But what if Star Wars characters were in actual positions of political power? Or at least look like they were?

Australian site DesignCrowd called for designers to imagine what it would look like "if Star Wars took over the world." The international competition had a prize pool of A$300 (US$216).

After the two-week submission period, DesignCrowd picked the winner, user Enzzok whose art features Darth Vader taking calls as president of the United States.

In other submissions, you'll see characters in the midst of televised political debates with Trump, C-3PO hanging about in the White House, and Jabba the Hutt mirroring Kim Jong-un.

By the way, we'd love to see Darth Vader take on Trump any day.
