There's a new Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer set to be released Monday night, but there's a catch -- you have to watch Monday Night Football to see it debut.

The new trailer, which will be the film's third, is set to debut at halftime during the New York Giants vs. Philadelphia Eagles game that starts at 8:30 p.m. ET. And although the trailer will end up online shortly if not immediately before it airs, impatient star wars fans will still have to suffer through an entire half game of football.

Advanced tickets for the film were supposed to go on sale immediately after the trailer aired, although Mashable has confirmed that Fandango has begun rolling out tickets to the debut on Dec. 17 early.

Sure, while there is probably at least one Star Wars fan out there who can't wait to watch the Giants play on Monday evening, others are less than excited about the unlikely pairing of football and Star Wars.

Ugh. Do I really have to watch football to catch the new Star Wars trailer tonight? Weird demographic choice.— Jamie Barnes (@jamiebarnes) October 19, 2015

Pretty sure I'm more excited for the Star Wars trailer tonight during half time, than I am for the actual football game. #Nerd@heart.— Wyatt Beebe (@beebewyatt9) October 19, 2015

Making nerds watch a football game in order to find out when Star Wars tickets go on sale is a dirty move by the NFL to increase viewership— Laurel Rose (@LaurelBRose) October 19, 2015

My husband and I will be watching football for the first time ever tonight but only because there is a new Star Wars trailer at halftime.— Jenna Johns (@jennajohns18) October 19, 2015
