Starbucks closed all of its 50 stores in Jakarta, Indonesia, on Thursday after a series of attacks rocked the capital city.

The attack began when the assailants set off explosions at a Starbucks cafe the Skyline building, located in a bustling shopping area. They then engaged in a prolonged gunfight with Indonesian police while firing on people who were fleeing the bombings. Seven people, including five attackers, were killed. The city was immediately put on lockdown.

"We are deeply saddened by the senseless acts that have taken place in Jakarta today; our hearts are with the people of Indonesia," read a statement on Starbucks' corporate website. "This store and all other Starbucks stores in Jakarta will remain closed, out of an abundance of caution."

Starbucks will reopen all of its stores on Friday, except for the Skyline building location. The coffee giant has about 200 stores through Indonesia, according to Bloomberg.

Islamic State militants have claimed responsibility for the attacks.
