Well That Was Quick: 50 Cent's Drama 'Power' Renewed on Starz
Jamie 'Ghost' St. Patrick (Omari Hardwick) roughs up Miguel Alvarez (Manny Montana) in the season premiere of "Power."

Starz wants more Power.

The cable network announced today the renewal of its freshman drama, Power, which is executive produced by Curtis Jackson (known to most by his rapper name, 50 Cent) and just debuted Saturday.

This quick renewal is on par with Starz's approach to original programming in the past. Kelsey Grammer's Boss, Spartacus and the Michael Bay-produced Black Sails all received second season renewals before premiering, with the latter receiving the good news a full six months before the show premiered in January.

Power stars Omari Hardwick as a rich nightclub owner who lives a double life as a powerful drug dealer. When he decides to leave crime behind him, life gets, well, powerfully complicated.
