Steam's Summer Sale Is Back to Clean Out Gamers' Wallets

Were you thinking about saving up for a nice, tropical summer vacation? Too bad. Steam is determined to ruin all your plans by launching its annual summer sale on Thursday.

This summer sale lasts 11 days, and PC, Mac and Linux games are discounted anywhere from 25% to 80% off their original prices, allowing gamers to scoop up titles they may have yet to play. The games on sale rotate daily, and flash sales only last a few hours -- making this a great opportunity to spend a lot of money in very small increments.

Some of the biggest deals on Thursday were Dead Rising 3 for $37.49, Far Cry 3 for $7.49, XCOM: Enemy Unknown for $7.49, and The Witcher 2 for $3.99.

If you're not looking to spend all your money at once, add games to your wish list now, and you'll be notified by email when they go on sale.

The summer sale is scheduled to end June 30.
