Stephen Collins will not appear in an upcoming episode of Scandal as previously planned, following TMZ leaking a 2012 tape on Tuesday in which the actor confessed to child molestation.

"We can confirm that we will not be airing any footage with Stephen Collins," an ABC rep told Mashable.

In September, the actor, who has appeared on the show once before, tweeted about plans for his upcoming guest spot.

Happy to say I did another episode of #Scandal. Had a gr8 time. Wish I could say more but @ShondaRhimes would have to kill me.

Collins previously played a reporter named Reed Wallace in the Season 2 episode "Happy Birthday, Mr. President."
