Starting tomorrow, Fotolia will be announcing a call for high-quality user submitted videos. They're in search of videographers with great content (think animation, stop motion, digital film, and traditional video) who want to leverage Fotolia's size and distribution possibilities - they claim to reach 500,000 media buyers from across the globe.
Fotolia's ramping up their video repository for a late February launch of a broadcast-quality stock video library, which will house a variety of digital formats for purchase starting at $10. From the looks of it, contributors have control over licensing and earn commission based on their ranking, but even the lowest ranking contributors (white) will earn 35% commission on their stock video sales. That's not too shabby.
With the new offering, Fotolia tells us they are hoping to serve bloggers, advertising houses, and marketing departments. We think this is a great idea for producers and buyers alike. If you're interested in participating, check out this page for more information on the video call to action.
We'd love to hear what you think about Fotolia's announcement. Will you be submitting your video clips? Do you plan on purchasing stock video from Fotolia? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
