So you watch the stocks. Maybe invest some of your hard earned cash in big ones like GOOG and perhaps a few oilmen, too. Perhaps you’re betting on a greener future, and have pocketed a number of shares in solar.

But you’re forced to give the tickers a break every weekend. (Nevermind the after-hours and the news analysis that holds you over through to Monday morning.) What to do on your days off? How about a game?

This find comes by way of Mashable reader Shelly L. It’s called StockNewsGame, and the rules are pretty simple. You’re given 180 seconds to determine whether on a particular day in the past a stock closed up or down and by how much. No need to cheat and look back into the markets’ histories. Just try your best to make an educated guess.

Having spent just a few moments in the hot seat, I can assure you my assumptions of trading days past are thoroughly wrong. In just a few button clicks I managed to dig a hole from which I cannot possibly emerge. Suffice it to say that if you’re looking for something to challenge your memory of recent Wall Street history, this is it.
