Quick Pitch: Storybook allows Facebook users to share their personal stories with the brands they love through use of photo and text.

Genius Idea: Companies using Storybook can form deeper connections with consumers through storytelling and sharing while keeping their brands at the center of the conversation.

Napkin Labs knows how crucial consumers are to any brand -- which is why they are launching Storybook, a Facebook app that allows users to share their personal, product-centered stories with the companies who made those memories possible.

“The Storybook app provides a central place for consumers to share their experiences with the brand, so they’ll have a longer life than if they were just posted on a brand’s Timeline,” Napkin Labs CEO Riley Gibson tells Mashable. “Also, brands can use Storybook to pull insights from the stories consumers share, and can moderate which stories are published to their timeline or used as promoted posts.”

To get the ball rolling, companies need only ask Facebook users an open-ended, inspiring question about their product. Napkin Labs suggests something like: “What’s the most epic ride you’ve ever taken on an Aero Bike?”

After the question is posed, users are able to create journal-like renditions of their memories for the brand -- and other customers -- to read and share on Facebook.

The idea for Storybook came from Ali Lamb, a member of Napkin Labs Brainstorm. Lamb told stories of her many hiking adventures from the POV of her Nikes.

With Storybook, Nike and other brands can use this kind of consumer enthusiasm to get to know their customers on a personal level, as well as gain valuable insight about their products.
