Street artist paints beautiful Stuart Scott tribute

Sportscaster Stuart Scott died after a lengthy battle with cancer on Sunday, leaving a void in sports world for fans who had become accustomed to his signature style on ESPN over the past two decades.

Heartfelt tributes have poured in from colleagues and athletes alike, but perhaps none is as original as the piece a Los Angeles street artist painted this week.

The piece perfectly captures the appeal Scott's signature cadence and catchphrases -- referencing rap lyrics and a hip-hop culture just beginning to break take over the mainstream in the 1990s -- had on fans. Initially that style, unique at the time, earned Scott criticism and pushback from higher-ups at ESPN. But he refused to change and, in his resolve, became a sports broadcasting legend.
